TUINA
(Chinese Massage)
Tuina (also called Tui-Na or Tui na massage) is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The name of this massage therapy comes from the two words describing actions in the treatment: tui means “to push” and na means “to grab or squeeze”.
The practice of Tuina involves brushing, kneading, rolling, pressing and rubbing parts of the body, using the palms of the hands, fingertips and knuckles. This removes blockages along the meridians of the body to stimulate ”Qi” and blood to promote healing.
Tuina massage can be used to treat pain and illness, or simply to maintain good health. The technique is effective in reducing stress, encouraging relaxation and deepening sleep. It is often used for conditions and injuries related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems - neck and back pain.
